A Nation of Artists Bird Outing at Philadelphia Museum of Art

Join In Color Birding and PMA on Sunday, May 3rd from 11am to 1pm as we tour the exterior of the Philadelphia Museum of Art (West Entrance) as a part of the Nation of Artists celebration! Our outings are about community, curiosity, and bird joy. All experience levels are welcome. Event is free for children/teens and $3 to $5 per adult (ICB can cover your cost if needed)

WHAT TO EXPECT: A slow and friendly walk with frequent stops to look and listen. We will stay mostly on flat, wide gravel paths and trails. Total distance will be flexible and based on group comfort Leaders will adjust pace and route to support the group members.

BIRDS WE MIGHT SEE: We look forward to welcoming back many of our songbirds, especially our warblers. Key species getting settled or moving through include Palm Warblers, Yellow Warblers, Chimney Swifts, Broad-winged Hawks, Eastern Pheobes, Tree Swallows, Eastern Kingbirds, Blue-gray Gnatcatchers, and hopefully some returning Baltimore Orioles!

ACCESSIBILITY INFO: Parking available in the lot just behind the West entrance to the museum. Accessible parking in the garage with multiple spots available. ICB will reimburse any cost of parking or ride-shares. Fully accessible restrooms located in the museum if needed. Route will be part sun and shade depending on weather. Will move at a leisurely pace. There are various benchs along the route Welcome to bring mobility aids as needed Binoculars will be avaiable for use thanks to Nocs Provisions If you have specific access needs please indicate so in the RSVP or message us directly here.

WHAT TO BRING: Comfortable clothes/shoes based on forecasted weather. Water, snacks, bug spray (if desired), sun glasses/screen if helpful Portable stool if desired (ICB can also bring one if needed). Your full and curious self

Folks who want a calm, inclusive, and community-centered experience Anyone curious about birds, nature, or spending time outdoors together We’re excited to bird with you and share a winter morning at the refuge together.
