Stroud Preserve
Join In Color Birding for a spring walk at Stroud Preserve as we’re welcomed by the Natural Lands to explore this beautiful preserve once known as historic farmland. We’ll wander through grassy and soil trails that wind along the Brandywine Creek, freshwater wetlands, and historic buildings while keeping an eye out for some incredible spring migrants and resident birds.
At this time of year we may spot Indigo Buntings, Bobolinks, Orchard Orioles, Barn Swallows, Yellow Warblers, Eastern Bluebirds, Cedar Waxwings, Eastern Kingbirds, Red shouldered Hawks, and more.
This will be a leisurely paced group walk with the distance and pace shaped by attendees and group leaders. Trails are unpaved and can get muddy after rain, so wear comfortable clothes and sneakers or hiking boots. Bring water, snacks, and sun block. Bug spray is optional but always a good idea.
Parking is available in a gravel lot with space for about 40 cars. There are no designated accessible parking spots, but accommodations can be made upon arrival if needed. Mobility devices are welcome on grassy surfaces, and there is a gravel section of trail accessible by bridge that allows wheelchair users to travel into the middle of the preserve and back. Please note there are no restrooms onsite.
As usual, ICB will reimburse rideshare costs IN FULL!
